If you’ve seen the U.S. builds all over Instagram running 35s on the new Toyota LandCruiser Prado 250 Series and thought, “That’d never be legal here”… that’s just changed.
Superior Engineering has released the Outback Venturer 4000kg GVM Upgrade Kit for select Prado 250 variants. A federally approved, pre-registration package that makes legal 35-inch tyres in Australia a reality.

We’re talking:
3.5-inch suspension lift
GVM upgraded to 4000kg
Legal fitment of 35-inch tyres
Retains OEM braked towing capacity and GCM
In short: this is how you build a 35-inch Prado 250 that’s actually engineered — not just lifted.
READY TO UPGRADE YOUR PRADO GVM?
What Makes This Prado 250 GVM Upgrade Different?
Not ever 4WD you can get 35-inch tyres, a major GVM increase, and nationwide compliance in one properly engineered package.
The Superior Outback Venturer kit is built as a complete system - suspension, geometry correction, braking support, and underbody protection all together.

With this upgrade, your Prado 250 retains:
OEM braked towing capacity
OEM Gross Combined Mass (GCM)
Correct steering and suspension geometry
That’s the difference between a lifted Prado that looks tough — and one you can legally tour, tow, and load to 4,000kg.
What’s Included in the Superior Outback Venturer Prado 250 GVM Upgrade?
Superior hasn’t just thrown taller springs at it. The Prado 250 package is packed full of Superior goodies.

Up front, Australian-made heavy-duty X5K coil springs are paired with Superior 2.0 adjustable remote reservoir shocks. These shocks are fully rebuildable and offer up to eight stages of compression adjustment, so the vehicle can be tuned depending on whether it’s daily-driven or fully loaded for touring.
Billet adjustable upper control arms restore correct camber and castor after the lift — which means predictable steering and even tyre wear. A billet diff drop kit reduces CV angles, protecting the driveline when running the extra height and larger tyres.

At the rear, heavy-duty coils are matched with 2.0 remote reservoir shocks and supported by:
Adjustable rear panhard rod
Billet lower and upper control arms
Heavy-duty 24mm rear sway bar
Sway bar extensions
Extended brake lines
One of the standout inclusions is the billet rear coil seat brace kit. This reinforces a known load area, helping the Prado maintain ride height and structural integrity when operating at the new 4000kg GVM.

Built To Support 35-Inch Tyres Properly
Any off-roader knows this is the real headline. The Outback Venturer kit is engineered and federally approved to support 35x12.5-inch tyres on 18-inch wheels with a +18 offset.
To make that legal and compliant, Superior includes:
CanBus speedo correction module
Wolverine 70mm flare kit
Premium mudflaps
Big tyres are easy to bolt on. Making them legal and properly engineered is the hard part. That’s what this kit solves.

Why This Must Be Done Pre-Registration
When people hear “35s and 3.5 inch lift” the first question is usually: “How is that legal?”
The answer is Second Stage Manufacturing (SSM) which basically means pre-registration approval.
When the kit is fitted and approved before the vehicle’s first registration, it’s legally recognised Australia-wide. Once a vehicle is registered, making changes of this scale becomes far more restricted depending on the state or territory.
This kit is intended for brand-new pre-registered vehicles Australia-wide.
In-service approval may be available in some states and territories – please contact your local Superior Engineering production facility for advice.
