CHEVY 1500 LIFT KIT: UP TO 6 INCHES
This new Offroad Industries range gives Silverado 1500 owners four main configurations, depending on whether you have an LTZ or ZR2 and whether you want to run 35 or 37-inch tyres.

The biggest option is the Chevy Silverado 6-inch lift for the LTZ, allowing you to legally run 37-inch tyres. ZR2 owners can achieve a similar result with less additional lift because the ZR2 already sits higher from factory.
CAN YOU LEGALLY RUN 37S ON A SILVERADO 1500?
Yes. Offroad Industries' new Silverado 1500 packages give you a legal pathway to run 35-inch or 37-inch tyres. You can go with a 4-inch lift and 35s, or step all the way up to the headline package: a 6-inch lift with 37-inch tyres.
The packages use BDS suspension components, FOX 2.5 Performance Elite shocks and upgraded BDS control arms, with the approved wheel and tyre combination forming part of the complete package.
That means you're not simply fitting a big American lift kit and oversized tyres and hoping they're legal. The lift and tyre combination is covered under the federally approved Offroad Industries package. For us, the standout is simple: you can now build a Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 6-inch lift and 37s and have it legally approved for Australian roads.
WHY DOES THE ZR2 GET LESS LIFT?
You'll notice the lift figures are different between the LTZ and ZR2. That's because the ZR2 already has additional ride height from factory. To run 35s, the LTZ uses a 4-inch lift while the ZR2 only requires an additional 2 inches. In both cases, the overall height is the same.
HOW IS A 6-INCH SILVERADO LIFT LEGAL IN AUSTRALIA?
This is what makes these packages interesting. You could already buy a big lift kit for a Chevy Silverado. That isn't new. But simply buying a 4-inch or 6-inch lift kit and fitting bigger tyres doesn't automatically make that combination legal for Australian roads.
Offroad Industries has developed these packages under its Second Stage Manufacture (SSM) approval. That means the suspension, lift, approved wheels and tyres and other required components are certified together as a complete package before the vehicle receives its first registration.
So you can end up with something as extreme as a Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ with a 6-inch lift and 37s, with the complete combination covered under the approval.
DOES THE CHEVY SILVERADO 6-INCH LIFT NEED TO BE DONE BEFORE REGISTRATION?
Yes. These particular Offroad Industries Silverado lift packages are pre-registration only. That means the work needs to be completed through the SSM program before the vehicle receives its first Australian registration.
Once the vehicle has already been registered, modifications fall under state-based engineering requirements and the same package becomes harder to certify and engineer.
