The vehicle’s kerb weight is approximately 2,749kg — that’s before passengers, accessories, or gear. Towing 4,500kg means you’ll have a tow ball download of roughly 450kg, which legally comes off your payload. That alone brings your available payload down to just 251kg.
Add a couple of passengers, some fuel, a fridge and a canopy, and you’re already overweight.

Yes. To install the chassis brace properly, we remove the tub and fuel tank to access and reinforce the chassis structure.
This is the perfect time to upgrade to a long-range fuel tank if you haven’t already. The V8 engine in the RAM 1500 will use significantly more fuel when towing, so increasing your range while the tank is already out just makes sense.
