70 Series Interior Upgrades: What We Fit First

Your 70 Series is tough as nails on the outside and a bit of a shed on the inside. The good news is that 70 Series interior upgrades are some of the easiest wins you can make, and we fit them every week at our Brisbane workshop. Here are the ones we reckon every owner should look at first.

The Best 70 Series Interior Upgrades to Start With

Not every upgrade earns its spot. Some look flash and do nothing. The ones below make a real difference on the daily run, on the highway and on the dirt. We pick function over looks every time, and so do most of our customers.

Roof Console and Centre Console

A roof console is the tidy way to fix a messy cab. It gives you a proper home for map lights, switches and gauges, so everything sits where you can reach it. The centre console does the same job down low. You get a big pocket that beats the factory one, plus power sockets and USB charging for your phone.

Want a gauge to keep an eye on the engine? That can go in too. Running a two-way radio? A console can be built to suit.

Plenty of room for the wallet, the phone and everything else the factory pocket gave up on.

A Head Unit You Will Actually Use

The factory head unit in a 70 Series is basic. A modern one gives you Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, digital radio, navigation and a reversing camera. It also makes phone calls clear, which matters if you spend half your day on the phone in the truck. Many units fit the factory dash with no cutting, so the job is mostly a few wires and a bit of patience.

Door Pods and Speakers: Real Sound, No Drilling

The factory speakers are tiny and sound like a phone sitting on the dash. Swap them for proper 6.5 inch speakers in a door pod and the difference is instant. A good door pod bolts into existing holes, so there is no drilling into the door. Some pods double as a cup holder, so you fix the sound and the drink problem in one hit. Then, if you want more, add an amplifier later.

Sound Deadening: The 70 Series Interior Upgrade Most People Skip

Do this one before the speakers go in. A 70 Series is loud, especially once you fit mud terrain tyres. Sound deadening cuts wind and road noise, and it knocks back heat coming through the roof and floor. Your air conditioning works less hard, and your speakers sound better too. Best of all, you stop yelling at your passenger just to have a normal chat.

Seats and What Comes Next

Comfortable seats are the next step if long days behind the wheel leave you sore. After that, you can go further with rear door pods, a subwoofer setup and custom door cards. Each build is different, so start with the basics and add as you go.
