When we set out to build the BAW Ford Ranger, we had one mission – to create a Next-Gen Ford Ranger that would be the ultimate showcase of what’s possible with the right modifications. This wasn’t just about throwing parts at a truck; we wanted to build something that was practical, capable, and tough, while still being comfortable enough to daily drive.
So, we got to work, choosing only the best components to turn this Ranger into the perfect all-rounder – a rig that could haul gear, tackle tough off-road tracks, and handle long-distance touring without breaking a sweat.

Built to Handle Anything – Lovells 4000kg GVM Upgrade
A stock Ranger is good, but when you start adding bull bars, canopies, roof racks, and long-range fuel tanks, you quickly start pushing the limits of its stock GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass). That’s why we went with the Lovells 4000kg GVM Upgrade – giving this build the load capacity it needs to carry all the extra gear legally and safely.
4000kg GVM Upgrade – Increased load capacity by 720kg for a fully kitted-out setup.
Upgraded Lovells Front & Rear Suspension – Improved handling and ride quality.
Heavy-Duty Leaf Springs & Front Coil Springs – Built to carry weight and handle off-road punishment.

Whether it’s fully loaded for work or set up for an off-road adventure, this suspension setup ensures the Ranger stays compliant, comfortable, and capable. And if towing is a priority, the optional Lovells 4000kg BTC Upgrade Kit boosts towing capacity to 4000kg and GCM to 7800kg, making it a serious tow rig as well.
Touring & Canopy Fit-Out – Built for Work & Play
With the Utemaster Centurion Canopy and Cantilever Roof Rack, this Ranger is kitted out to carry everything needed for off-road touring, worksite duties, or weekend camping trips.

Utemaster Centurion Canopy – Secure, dustproof storage for tools and camping gear.
Cantilever Roof Rack – Extra load space for MaxTrax, water tanks, and recovery gear.
Destination4WD 270 Awning – Quick setup shade and weather protection.
Custom OTS Drawer System with BushTucker Slide-Out Kitchen – Includes a Safiery Induction Cooktop and Engel 60L Fridge.
Whether it’s job sites during the week or off-road touring on weekends, this setup ensures the Ranger is ready for anything.
Power & Electrical – The Heart of the Setup
A build like this needs serious power, so we installed a full 12V touring setup to keep everything running smoothly.
200Ah Lithium Battery – Powers everything from the fridge to the lighting system.
2000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter – Runs high-draw appliances without issue.
Garmin Power Switch – Controls all the accessories via a simple touchscreen interface.
Twin 12V Power Outlet Packages – Multiple power points throughout the canopy and cab.
Seaflo Diaphragm Water Pump – Running the 40L & 50L water tanks for easy access to fresh water.
This 12V system keeps the Ranger fully self-sufficient, making off-grid travel a breeze.

Wheels, Tyres & Exhaust – Finishing the Look
We wrapped this Ranger in a set of aggressive all-terrains that provide the perfect mix of on-road comfort and off-road grip.
Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T – 265/70R17
Black Rock Cobra Wheels – 17x9
Manta Exhaust – 3-inch DPF-Back
This setup ensures the Ranger not only performs well but looks the part too.
The Ultimate Next-Gen Ford Ranger Build for Touring
This build is proof that the Next-Gen Ford Ranger is one of the most capable platforms out there when modified properly. At BAW, we built this truck to showcase what’s possible – and we couldn’t be happier with the result.
