2022 Highly Modified Isuzu DMAX
Name a better Weekend Warrior... we'll wait. This Beast was build for the wild.

Every 4x4 build has a purpose, and our BAW Isuzu D-Max? It's built to go hard, carry more, and handle anything you throw at it. Whether you're packing up for a weekend escape or heading off-grid for a serious tour, this rig is loaded with the gear, the grunt, and the comfort to get you there (and back) in style. From GVM upgrades to slick storage solutions, we’re breaking down every mod, why we chose it, and how it makes this D-Max the ultimate touring setup. Let’s get into it.

Bull Bar & Winch: Build for Isuzu 4x4 Protection

The Jungle 4x4 full hoop bull bar was selected for its robust protection—ideal for touring and weekend setups. Complementing it is the Carbon 12,000-pound winch, ensuring reliable recovery capability in challenging off-road conditions.

Wheels & Tyres: Balancing Performance and Comfort

Sticking with the original 18-inch rims, this D-Max was built primarily for touring rather than extreme off-roading. The choice of ROH Crawler rims adds a rugged aesthetic, paired with Yokohama Geolandar X-AT tyres—offering an excellent blend of aggressive looks, on-road comfort, and off-road capability.

Snorkel: Enhanced Airflow for Tough Conditions

The Safari ARMAX Snorkel maximises airflow to the engine and is integrated with a modified factory airbox to optimise performance, ensuring cleaner air intake in dusty and wet conditions.

Mirrors & Visibility: Improved Safety and Functionality

The Clear View mirrors were chosen for their expanded field of vision while towing or navigating rough terrain. Their compact design retains essential standard features.

Tough Dog Suspensionf for Isuzu DMAX

Tough Dog GVM Upgrade: Strengthening the Load Capacity

The Tough Dog GVM upgrade increases the D-Max’s GVM from 3100kg to 3695kg, utilising a full Tough Dog suspension kit, including:

  • Front struts

  • Rear leaf packs

  • Hardware and bushes

This upgrade ensures compliance with load requirements and enhances the vehicle’s off-road and towing capability.

Maxliner Adventure Canopy: Smart Storage & Access

This build features the Maxliner Adventure canopy, with push-button opening for all windows, making access to gear easy and convenient.

RV Storage Solutions Drawer System: Organised & Secure Storage

Designed for efficiency and durability, the RV Storage Solutions drawer system features:

  • Premium alloy construction

  • Fridge slide for easy access

  • Under-drawer storage

  • Lockout system, preventing unexpected drawer movement on rough terrain

Yakima Roof Rack & MaxTrax

Mounted on the Yakima Rugged Line system, this setup provides extra storage capacity for essentials like MaxTrax recovery boards and a shovel holder.

Invicta Hybrid Lithium Battery & Solar Charging

Powering the D-Max’s electrical needs is an Invicta Hybrid Lithium Battery, offering both cold cranking amps and deep cycle performance.

  • The battery is paired with a Victron MPPT controller, allowing efficient solar charging from the roof-mounted solar panel.

  • This setup ensures self-sufficiency in remote locations, keeping power-hungry accessories running.

Road Vision Switch Panel

For seamless control of lighting and power functions, the Road Vision switch panel is installed inside the sunglasses holder, mirrored by an additional rear controller.

Maxliner Floor Mats & Weather Shields

Darchi 270 Awning & Road Shower

For ultimate outdoor convenience, this D-Max is equipped with a Darchi 270-degree awning, providing shelter around the vehicle. Paired with a Road Shower water tank, this setup ensures easy access to pressurized water for cleaning or showering.
