At BAW Automotive, we build dream 4WDs that are as practical as they are tough. Our chopped Land Cruiser 200 Series is the perfect example. This wasn’t just another customer build; it was personal. We needed a rig that could handle everything from school runs to off-road touring. It also had to showcase what’s possible when you go all-in on a 200 Series build.

As seen in 4X4 Australia Mag – Nori Green 200 Series is the perfect blend of flex, form, and functionality.

After years of working on Land Cruisers, we knew the 200 Series was the best platform for our vision. The challenge was to make it a capable off-road beast while keeping it family-friendly. With a 350mm chassis extension, premium suspension upgrades, and a full canopy setup, this build proves that you can have comfort, capability, and practicality all in one.

200 Series Chopped & Extended – The Perfect Balance

We originally opted for a 350mm chassis extension and a 4200kg GVM upgrade. However, the 4WD industry is ever-evolving. If we were to rebuild this 200 Series again in 2025, we’d choose a 650mm chassis extension from Creative Conversions.

  • More Stability: A longer wheelbase keeps things balanced, especially when towing.

  • More Payload Capacity: The extra length means we can legally carry more.

  • Creative Conversions: With over 30 years of experience, they have completed thousands of conversions.

A Creative Conversions chop without an extension is an option, but you lose out on the extra tray capacity and improved towing stability that a longer wheelbase provides. The 650mm extension makes a significant difference when hauling heavy loads, giving the 200 better handling and a smoother ride.

200 Series GVM & Suspension Upgrade

With a fully loaded canopy, touring gear, and bigger wheels, the stock suspension just wasn’t going to cut it. For this build, we ran a 4200kg GVM upgrade. However, if we were to do it again, we'd choose the Creative Conversions 4495kg GVM upgrade. Why? Because the extra capacity future-proofs the build, providing more flexibility for touring loads, accessories, and even towing.

Whether it’s fully loaded for a family trip or tackling rough tracks, this setup keeps the 200 stable, compliant, and comfortable.

Boss Aluminium Canopy & Touring Setup – Built for Off-Grid Adventures

A build like this isn’t complete without a canopy and touring setup that makes life easier on the road. We chose a Boss Aluminium tray and canopy, one of the best in the game for strength, storage, and usability.

  • Boss Aluminium Canopy & Tray: Lightweight, strong, and dustproof.

  • Custom Fit-Out: Storage for tools, recovery gear, and camping essentials.

  • Clearview Next Gen Towing Mirrors: Better visibility for towing.

  • Bushwakka Awning: Quick, easy shade and weather protection.

Everything is set up to be functional, durable, and ready for the next big trip.

200 Series Power & Performance Mods

With all this extra weight, we needed more power under the bonnet. A Safari ARMAX ECU & snorkel, PWR thermo fans, and a Torqit DPF-back exhaust help the 200 breathe better and perform stronger.

  • Safari ARMAX ECU & Snorkel: More power, better efficiency, and cleaner air intake.

  • Torqit DPF-Back Exhaust: Enhances the V8 sound and performance.

  • PWR Thermo Fans: Keeps the engine cool under heavy loads.

  • Rapid Power 250Amp Alternator: Ensures the 12V system runs flawlessly.

The result? More grunt, better cooling, and a setup that’s ready for anything.

Custom Interior Upgrades for a LandCruiser 200

When you’re spending long hours in a 4WD, interior comfort is just as important as performance. We went all out with a Proseat custom interior, featuring green accents and custom stitching.

  • Custom Leather Interior: With green stitching for a unique touch.

  • Focal Speakers and Amplifiers: For an enhanced audio experience.

  • Two 10-Inch Subwoofers: To bring the bass.

  • Kenwood Head Unit: Equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Whether it’s long-haul touring or just the daily drive, this setup makes every trip enjoyable.

The Signature Look – Nori Green Perfection

If you know BAW, you know Nori Green. This colour has become our signature, and it looks absolutely stunning on the 200 Series.

  • Full Paint Job: (It's not a wrap!) Factory-quality finish.

  • Blackout Package: No chrome here, just a tough, clean look.

  • ROH Sniper Wheels & Yokohama X-AT Tyres: Strong, reliable, and ready for the trails.

The two-tone black and Nori Green combo makes this one of the best-looking 200s on the road.

The Ultimate Chopped 200 Series Build

This 200 Series is the perfect mix of family-friendly practicality and hardcore off-road capability. Whether it’s for daily driving, weekend camping trips, or serious touring, it’s built to handle anything.

  • Chopped & Extended: More stability, more storage, same great drivability.
