Get to Know BAW Automotive Brisbane - Your Trusted 4WD Experts

We’re not some mega franchise punching out cookie-cutter builds. We’re a small team of qualified legends who live and breathe the 4WD lifestyle. Whether it’s Toyota 70 Series mods, full RAM builds, or a tough-as-nails Hilux with bar work and canopy setups — we do it all from our fully equipped Brisbane 4WD workshop.

Let’s run through the most common questions we get from customers so you know exactly what to expect when you book in with BAW.

Why Choose BAW Automotive?

Because we build 4WDs that actually work in the real world!

With over 40 years of combined experience, including 7+ years specialising in GVM upgrades, we know what holds up on the tracks and what doesn't. We’re certified GVM installers for Lovells, Tough Dog, and Superior Engineering, and ROVER-approved, which means we’re held to the highest standards of quality and compliance.

We’re a tight-knit team, not a corporate chain. Every build is done in-house by trade-qualified experts who run the same gear on their own vehicles. That means when we recommend a product, it’s because we’ve tested it - not because it’s trendy.

What Vehicles Do You Work On?

We specialise in the 4WDs that actually get used - whether it's for work or travel.

You’ll regularly see LandCruiser 70, 200, and 300 Series, Hilux, Ranger, D-MAX, RAM, F-150, and others in our workshop.

Do You Work on Caravans or Trailers?

We don’t service caravans, but we do work on towing setups, BTC upgrades, and 12V wiring that connects your 4WD and van.

So if you need caravan wiring or towbar electrics sorted as part of a 4WD build, we’ve got you covered.

Do I Need to Book Ahead?

Yes. We’re often booked out weeks in advance, especially for GVM upgrades, full builds, and custom suspension setups.

If you’re chasing something specific or need gear ordered in, it’s best to book early. You can reach us at quotes@bawauto.com.au

or submit your build details through our quote form.

Can I Bring My Own Parts?

We get this a lot.

To ensure quality, safety, and warranty support, we only install parts we supply. That way we know the gear is legit, compatible, and backed if anything goes wrong.
