SILVERADO 2500 GVM UPGRADES BRISBANE

The Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is already in a different league - but the factory GVM of 4,495kg (NB1) still has a ceiling. A certified ORI GVM upgrade takes it to 6,000kg in the NB2 category, unlocking over two tonnes of legal payload.

THE REAL PROBLEM

WHY CHEV 2500 OWNERS RUN OUT OF PAYLOAD

The Silverado 2500HD is a different class of truck entirely. The factory GVM looks substantial on paper, but the truck itself is substantially heavier too. The payload you're left isn't as generous as the GVM number suggests.

Everything about this truck is big - so everything that goes on it is bigger and heavier. Bigger canopy, bigger fuel tank, bigger tyres. And you've got more space, so you take more water, more gear. The 2500HD invites a bigger build - and a bigger build means you hit the payload ceiling faster than you'd expect from a truck this size.

NB1 VS NB2

WHAT IS NB2 AND WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Every Offroad Industries (ORI) upgrade for the Silverado 2500HD is certified in the NB2 heavy vehicle category - that's anything over 4,500kg GVM. Most 4WDs sit under that threshold in NB1.

Once you're in NB2, the rules change - a
Light Rigid (LR) license, different registration requirements and  . It's worth understanding before you commit.
