The RAM 1500 DT Hurricane is the most capable half-ton truck on Australian roads — but with a stock payload of just 638kg, it runs out of legal carrying capacity faster than you'd think. Add a bullbar, drawers, a canopy, dual batteries, and a couple of passengers and you're over before you've hitched anything up. This federally approved GVM upgrade from America's Garage fixes that, taking the Hurricane Laramie from 3,505kg to 3,999kg and more than doubling the payload to 1,337kg.
 
Factory GVM is 3,505kg. This upgrade takes you to 3,999kg — a 494kg increase in legal carrying capacity, with payload jumping from 638kg to 1,337kg. GCM increases from 7,711kg to 8,499kg. Towing capacity remains at 4,500kg braked.
