FACTORY VS UPGRADED
WHAT A TOYOTA TUNDRA GVM UPGRADE CAN DELIVER
Here's what a certified ORI GVM upgrade delivers for your Toyota Tundra — installed by BAW, engineered by Offroad Industries.
RATING | FROM FACTORY | WITH GVM UPGRADE |
|---|---|---|
GVM | 3536kg | Up to 4300kg |
Payload | ~758kg | Up to 1478kg |
GCM | 7825kg | Up to 8800kg |
BTC | 4500kg | 4500kg (unchanged) |
THE REAL PROBLEM
WHY UPGRADE YOUR TUNDRA'S GVM?
The Toyota Tundra looks like it was built to carry anything. But Australian-delivered Tundras arrive with a factory payload that doesn't reflect the size of the truck. Once you factor in accessories, passengers, and a serious tow setup, the factory GVM of 3,536kg disappears fast.
Most Tundra owners are towing up to 4,500kg and need the payload numbers to back it up legally. An Offroad Industries GVM upgrade increases payload by up to 95%, restores ride height under load, and keeps the Tundra compliant on Queensland roads.

GVM UPGRADE OPTIONS
TOYOTA TUNDRA GVM KITS - WHICH STAGE SUITS
YOUR BUILD?
ORI offer four stages for the Toyota Tundra Platinum and Limited — each delivering a different combination of GVM rating, Fox shock package, lift height, and tyre size. Stages 1 and 2 deliver 3,850kg GVM with factory-compatible tyres. Stages 3 and 4 push GVM to 4,300kg with 35-inch tyre compatibility. The difference between stages at the same GVM level is the Fox shock specification — Performance Elite on Stages 1 and 3, Factory Race on Stages 2 and 4.
Note: Running 35-inch tyres on Stage 3 or 4 requires minor body modifications. Additional charges apply — contact BAW for a full quote.
DISCLAIMER
ORI GVM upgrades are available for Australian-delivered Toyota Tundra Platinum and Limited models only.
All GVM upgrade figures and payload increases shown are typical examples only. Final approved upgrade levels may vary depending on your Tundra's model year, variant, and fitted accessories. Aftermarket wheels with a minimum load rating of 1,225kg are required for Stages 3 and 4.
Every vehicle is inspected and certified individually to ensure compliance with Australian Design Rules and relevant state regulations.

PRE-REGO VS POST-REGO
BUYING NEW OR ALREADY REGISTERED?
Timing changes how the upgrade gets certified. Here's what it means for your Ford F-150.
PRE-REGO (SSM)
Taking delivery of a new Tundra Platinum or Limited? Get the GVM upgrade done before you register it.
Done before the vehicle is first registered. Federally approved under Second Stage Manufacture (SSM). Recognised across all Australian states and territories. Usually allows bigger lifts and tyre sizes.

GCM & TOWING
TOWING WITH YOUR TUNDRA - NEED MORE GCM?
Most people shopping for a GVM upgrade are focused on payload — how much the vehicle can legally carry. But if you're towing, GCM is the number that actually limits what you can do.
GCM is the combined legal weight of your vehicle plus whatever is on the tow bar. Most GVM upgrades don't touch it. The ORI Tundra kit does — Stages 3 and 4 take GCM from 7,900kg up to 8,800kg, giving you more room across both limits at once.
This tool shows how the weight of your vehicle and trailer combine to reach your GCM limit.
Adjust the sliders to see how close you are to the maximum combined weight when towing.
